NAME: Church of St. Michael the Archangel
LOCATION: Largo S. Michele
DESCRIPTION: This church was also identified in ancient documentation as the Church of S. Agnelo (Angelo); it has three naves, divided by pointed arches resting on baseless columns with cone capitals. The central nave is covered by a flat ceiling, and the side aisles by pointed cross vaults. Three-lobed windows of 18th-century style open on the side walls; the back wall of the building is triapsidal.
The bell tower, which precedes the church, is decorated with single-lancet windows on each register and ends with a small dome.
SEE, VISIT, FIND: The church is open on Sundays at 11 a.m. for Mass and on Saturday afternoons.
